What Nicola Did

Blouse- Primark / Skirt- Topshop / Cardigan- Topshop / Shoes- Primark

Look, I'm wearing something that is actually in store now! That's a rare thing for me, but, after getting a £20 gift card at work, I decided it was finally time to invest in a denim skirt. I'm not a massive denim fan, I haven't worn jeans in almost 12 years, so I wasn't sure about a skirt either, but I just thought, what the heck? I decided to just keep the outfit simple by adding a plain white blouse and blue cardigan, none of which are available in store anymore, because I can't have too much new stuff all in one go.

This post is so titled because I've decided that this is my most 'What Olivia Did' looking outfit, which, considering she is the coolest cat ever, is not a bad thing at all.

Florals for Autumn

Dress- Topshop
Shoes- Primark
Headband- Crown and Glory

I'm finally back with an outfit post! Since Lee started his new job, we've not had a day off together, so no opportunities to take outfit pictures. But this morning, I put my new Topshop dress and dragged Lee to the local park to take some photos.

How nice is this dress? At first, I wasn't entirely convinced about the 70s trends that seem to have dominated 2015 thus far; but as soon as I saw this dress I fell in love. I love the length, the fact that it has a pastel pink colouring to it, and the drop dead gorgeous, floaty as anything sleeves. I decided to go all out girly for this post, with brogues, frilly socks and a pretty little Crown and Glory headband.

Ps. If you enjoy my outfit posts, and if you're feeling kind, you can nominate me and my little old blog for best fashion in the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards here. I know I probably don't deserve it, but I do love doing outfit posts.

Riviera

Shirt, skirt- Topshop
Shoes- Primark
Headband- Crown and Glory

If there's one classic summer look that I absolutely love, it's the riviera look. There's something you can't quite beat about a pinstripe shirt and white bottoms. I can't pull off white capri pants a la Audrey, so I have to go for a white skirt in my attempts at a riviera look, and, in true Nic style, the skirt has a scallop edge. Seriously, what is it with me and this finish? The Crown and Glory headband tops off the whole riviera attempt I was going for in the recent (two day) heatwave, most of which I spent in work, looking out longingly at everyone enjoying the sun.

One day I will make it to the riviera (I don't mind which), but for now I'm off to wish I were a mermaid/at the seaside.

Retro Dolly

Jumper- Paris
Skirt- Topshop
Shoes- Forever 21

Alert the press, I'm wearing something that is currently in the shops! This skirt is from Topshop, and is the stuff of 70s dreams. I love the bold flower print and the buttons down the front, and I can see it fast becoming one of my favourite skirts. I got it on my uniform, so it was a bargain for me, I picked it up for a measly £14.40.

Here I decided to let the skirt be the main focus and just wear plain everything else. The turtleneck is my favourite jumper, and I probably wear it a bit too much, but I don't care, I love it. I love anything from Paris, and this jumper is no exception.

Drip Drip Drop When the Sky is Cloudy

Top- Uniqlo x Orla Kiely
Skirt, coat- Topshop
Necklace- I Love Crafty

I don't think I've ever had to pose with a brolly on my blog before, it's a strange prop to have, but one I have with me at all times. I was 10 minutes too late in calling this post 'Do You Wanna Build A Snowman?' It was snowing, but, in typical Manchester fashion, the snow quickly turned to rain and settled in for the day.

As I've said time and time again on this space, I love a Uniqlo collaboration. I also love Orla Kiely, but a retail wage will not cover her main collections, so I got two pieces from her Uniqlo collaboration in 2013. I wear them absolutely all the time, they are two of my favourite tops I own, and I'm sure you'll see them around these parts time and time again. Here I went for a failsafe combo of a lovely top with my amazing shimmery pink skirt and mermaid necklace.

Tea, Toast and Turtlenecks

Jumper- Paris
Skirt, boots- Primark

Two outfit posts in two days! I love being off work, it gives me much more time to be creative and do things for this tiny little piece of the internet. This outfit is pretty much a go to for me in when the weather cools down: a jumper and a skirt. Hardly groundbreaking, I know, but it's nice and easy to throw on, and easy to carry from my house to Lee's when I'm staying there.

Speaking of me and Lee, we can finally start saving to move out properly now, hooray! It has been a long process, but now we're in a position where we can start sorting everything out to move, which is obviously great news, we can't stay at home forever now, can we?

I'll stop wearing my hair like this soon, I promise! What are your go-to outfits for the colder weather?

Many Florals

Top- Orla Kiely x Uniqlo
Skirt, Coat- Topshop
Boots- Primark

My oh my, hasn't the weather gone downhill? Obviously up here in Manchester it's raining, it always is. Yesterday it was sunny but cold, so this Orla Kiely x Uniqlo heattech top came in very useful indeed. I got it for Christmas last year in two patterns, and everytime I have the tiniest bit of time off work, out they come. Here I paired it with a lacy flowery Topshop skirt that's now too big for me, brown Primark boots, and my favourite coat I've ever owned, which was also a Christmas present last year. I adore pastels, so this pink coat was obviously going to be my favourite, I'm getting the blue one this year too.

Sorry for the sunlight in these photos, we couldn't find a good spot where the sun wasn't poking its head in.

White and Pink

Jumper, shoes- Primark
Skirt, coat- Topshop
Scarf- made by me

Well, the temperature certainly has plummeted in the past couple of days, hasn't it? I'm not a massive fan of the cold, so when it hits, I like to make sure I have enough jumpers. I saw the mustard version of this jumper in Primark last week, but mustard isn't really my colour, so when I spotted this white one, I was very happy indeed. I like the whole not-quite-a-turtleneck style of the jumper, and I also think that it wouldn't look out of place in a 70s Christmas video (which is never a bad thing). I paired it with everything else pink, as I often do, and was pleased with the result, looks like I can keep warm and still look alright at the same time after all, eh?

What do you all wear when the colder months come round?
