Welcoming Spring

Hello, long time no blog.

As usual, I have been feeling uninspired lately. I guess it was the combination of Winter and never ending lockdown, but my favourite season is starting I’m going to try and be more active on here, starting with a throwback to 2019 Sakura season, back when we could actually go out and do things.

I thought I’d do a little list of things I want do do this Spring to get my mojo back again. So here we go.

1. Put together some cute Spring outfits
2. Go for a walk every day.
3. Do some seasonal baking.
4. Go cherry blossom tree hunting.
5. Make an Easter cake.
6. Have as many Creme Egg McFlurrys as humanly possible.
7. Wear all the pastels.
8. (Hopefully) go to the library.
9. Have a big spring clean.
10. Enjoy my favourite season of the year as much as I can.

One Pink Tree, Four Different Outfits

Now we all know how much I love a pink tree, and pink clothing, so when I got the idea to take some pictures in front of one of the big cherry blossom trees in our local park, I decided to make it a bit of a feature, and, due to me having not done an outfit post on here in a while, I thought I would do four.

As is typical with me, 90% of the clothes are no longer available to buy, but I thought I’d showcase them anyway, as I definitely wear more older clothes than new ones, and what is this blog other than realistic about my penchant for never wearing current clothing?

I hope you’ve all had a great Easter weekend, mine has been filled with fun, sun, and plenty of chocolate, which I will tell you all about in another post soon.

Things I Love About Spring

I love Spring, it is without a doubt my favourite season. I just love everything about the season, so today I thought I’d talk about a couple of my absolute favourite things about the Spring season.

1. It’s not Winter anymore.
Ok, starting with the obvious here, but, other than Christmas, I really, really dislike the Winter. So, when it finally starts to go away, my mood starts to lift instantly. The weather may not exactly be boiling at the minute, but it does get nice in the UK in Spring (sometimes even nicer than Summer) so I look forward to that every March.

2. Spring clothes.
Florals for Spring may not impress Miranda Priestly, but I love them. Ditsy florals, floaty skirts and tea dresses are my favourite things to wear in all the world, and the fact that they’re everywhere (and in lovely pastel hues) in Spring is one of my favourite things.

3. Sakura/Cherry Blossom
Yep, a tree has made the list. If you know me, you’ll know that adorable pink flowers whose petals fall all over you is right up my street, so I get very excited for these beauties to pop up everywhere during Spring, and they fill my Instagram without fail every year.

4. Spring cleaning
I have always believed that Spring cleaning is good for the soul, whether it’s actual physical cleaning/tidying, or clearing out your mind, Spring is a great time to do this. Especially when the April showers hit.

5. Creme Egg McFlurrys
This one is really about Easter chocolate in general, but Creme Egg McFlurrys are my actual favourite food, so they deserved their own space on my small list.

As I said at the start of this blog post, I absolutely adore Spring, so putting together this list wasn’t at all tricky, but there are plenty of other things that I love about Spring, it is my favourite season, hands down.

Spring Bucket List

I know technically Spring hasn’t arrived yet, but meteorological Spring has, and I like to box my seasons off on the 1st of the month, thus, Spring has started in my eyes. So, with that in mind, I thought I’d do a little list of things I want to do this Spring.

1. See the Festival of Pirates and Princesses at Disneyland Paris. At least once.
2. Discover a new author.
3. Do some reading/ writing outdoors.
4. Do some Easter baking.
5. Go somewhere new.
6. Try something new.
7. Get an entire novel draft written.
8. Get a picnic basket.
9. Make daisy chains.
10. Not freak out over the birthday I have coming up.

I’m keeping everything crossed that I actually do everything on my list this year, I am determined.

Spring Bucket List

I try and do a Spring bucket list every year without fail, and, while I usually do fail at completing them every year, I still like to make these lists, as they teach me to enjoy every little moment, so, here I am again with another list, I hope I manage to do all the things on the list; it's only 10 things so I will, as usual, remain hopeful.

1. Get back into baking.
2. Go on some day trips.
3. Make three new cosplays.
4. Start scrapbooking.
5. Write more.
6. Go on a picnic.
7. Discover a new manga series.
8. Take more photographs.
9. Go on holiday somewhere new.
10. Visit a new park.

There we have it. I think it is a pretty manageable list. I hope so anyway. Spring is my favourite season so I am looking forward to the less gloomier days. I really hate Winter.

Pink Pinafore

Pinafore- Primark
Shoes- Topshop
Sunglasses- eBay
Necklace- I Love Crafty
Bracelet- Thomas Sabo

I love it when I buy something new that I instantly fall in love with, and this was the case with this Primark pinafore dress. As soon as I saw it, I knew I wanted it, I mean, come on, it's pink. It is such a versatile piece too, it can be worn with blouses for a more dressy look, or with t-shirts for a more relaxed look. Here, I decided to see if my Adorkable Apparel cropped mermaid top would also go well with it, and I think I just about pull it off. I decided to wear these adorable pink Topshop shoes that I've not worn in absolutely ages for some unknown reason, and my heart shaped sunglasses that I got from eBay last year for 99p. I decided to force Tigger to be in these photos too, which he clearly doesn't look thrilled about.

Disneyland Paris Swing into Spring Day Two

Time for day two of my trip to Disneyland Paris; you can find day one here (and a day one vlog here too, day two will be there on Sunday). Day two was my final day at Disneyland Paris, as I had to be home for Lee's birthday, so I woke up super early to get ready and go in to the park. My Annual Pass doesn't cover the extra magic hours, so I got on the free shuttle bus from my hotel at about 9:45, so I could be in the park for 10. When I got there, I headed for Thumper and Miss Bunny, as I knew they were only out for Spring, and they were so cute. They had an argument because Miss Bunny wanted Thumper to buy her a Cath Kidston bag like mine, it was adorable.

I then met Ellie, Sammy and Mallory, and we got in the Alice or friends queue, hoping to get to meet Alice. We didn't, unfortunately, but we got to meet the Queen of Hearts. We then headed in to the Princess Pavillion, where we all yelped with delight as we got to meet Rapunzel!! She was so in character, and it was a brilliant meet.

After the Pavillion, we also met up with Milly to watch Minnie's Spring Train, and after that Sarah came too and me, her and Milly went to get some lunch at Toad Hall. I'd never been before but I definitely will be going again, the fish and chips was beautiful, and the company was great too. After lunch, we met Abu, and then Sarah and Milly went over to the studios park and I went to meet Steph. It started pouring with rain so we went into the Pavillion again where we got to meet Ariel.

After such a short queue in the Pavillion, we realised we had enough time to watch Welcome to Spring before the parade (which we got a really good spot for). After the parade we dashed over to watch Forest of Enchantment again, this time all in English, and then we went for a slightly disappointing meal in Cafe Mickey, which I may review at a later date. After that, I said my goodbyes and went home.

I had such an amazing trip, and going with other bloggers/vloggers was a totally different experience to going with Lee. I hope to get to meet some of the girls again, and look forward to making even more Disney friends.

Disneyland Paris Swing into Spring Day One

If there are two things I could say I love more than anything, ever, it's Disneyland Paris and Spring. So, when the two are put together, I think it's pretty safe today I am besotted. I've been admiring Swing into Spring from afar for years, so I knew I had to go this year. I was actually going to drag Lee along with me this month, but when an opportunity to join lots of other bloggers/youtubers/tweeters there instead came along, I decided to throw caution to the wind and go then instead. As usual, I took loads and loads of photos, so I'm going to split this trip in to two posts, day one and day two.

I got to Disney super early on the first day, so I wandered around the Village for a while taking my first ever trip in to World of Disney (I know!) to get an autograph book. I know, at 27 I am probably too old for an autograph book, but I don't care. I then headed to the park for rope drop, and headed straight for the Princess Pavillion, which I discovered was a huge mistake, as I queued for two hours. I spent the whole queue time hoping for Aurora, and when I finally got in and it was her, I almost cried! Not even joking, I was so happy. I then headed over to meet Alice in Wonderland, but she went off leaving the mad hatter and the rabbit just before I got to the front, so I left that queue and went to the Peter Pan queue. I got to meet Peter, and he kept calling me a lost girl. It was an amazing meet. I then went on It's A Small World, and then got some food whilst I waited for Sammy, Ellie and Mallory to arrive, watching Minnie's Spring Train twice in the meantime.

When the others arrived, it was time to go and get annual passes, which I was extremely excited for. We then watched Magic on Parade, and rode on Casey Jr, Indiana Jones, Space Mountain, Pinocchio, Snow White and the Carousel, and also met up with Lizi and her friends to go on Pirates of the Caribbean. Me and Ellie watched Forest of Enchantment, we ate in Cafe Hyperion, browsed in the shops (where I bought the 2016 pin I've wanted since January) and had amazing hot chocolates before the others went back to their hotel (they'd been travelling for a lot of the day) and I watched Dreams. After bawling my way through that, I waited so I could be the last one on Main Street and I actually did it! I was the actual last one there other than the CMs. I then headed to the Kyriad for some well-needed sleep ready for day two.

You can see my vlog from Day one here, stay tuned for day two, coming very soon.

Spring Daze

Pinafore- BooHoo / Blouse- Primark / Headband- Crown and Glory

Happy first day of Spring! Spring is my favourite season, I love all the flowers, the clothes, the weather, it really is my favourite time of the year. The weather has certainly started taking note now too, with the extremes of the never ending Winter seemingly behind us, the sun has been shining for days. I only hope it stays like this for a while.

I decided to start dressing for the Spring this week too, I'm sick of having to wear multiple layers, so I wore this blouse and pinafore for a day at a local park, to see the ducks and the daffodils. Naturally I also sported some Crown and Glory, their floral pieces are the best. It's Easter next week, and I remember last Easter being lovely, so I hope this Easter has some nice weather too, I have a few days off after all.

Go Retro

Dress, Jumper- Primark / Shoes- Topshop

I have always had a love/hate relationship with shift dresses, I just think they fit strangely, but when I saw this one in Primark last week, I fell in love with it. I love the high neck and the retro print on the dress, so I knew I had to get it; weird fit or no weird fit. It actually looks a lot better in person, I promise. I had to layer it with this jumper though, due to the still freezing weather that seemed to dominate until today. I can't wait to wear it with light layers this Spring. I'm planning on shooting a lookbook at some point soon and I'm sure that this dress will feature in that, so expect to see it around these parts a lot more.
