The Great British Staycation

Now I am a big fan of holidays. I love getting out of the town where I live and exploring somewhere new. I can get all of this by going abroad, but sometimes my teeny tiny wages don't stretch that far, so I have to stay in the good old UK. Myself and Lee are big fans of day trips, having ventured to Blackpool, Liverpool, Chester, Southport, Sheffield, Alton Towers and Chester Zoo together so far, and with an upcoming trip to Bath, I thought I'd list some of the places I'd like to visit on this little island.

I've wanted to go to Bath for years. I love Jane Austen, and I've always wanted to see Roman baths. Throw in the fact that one of my favourite bloggers lives there, and I'm sold. We are going here in just over a week, so that'll be one off the list.

There's definitely a theme here. The next place on my list is the birthplace of Shakespeare: Stratford-Upon-Avon. Admittedly this is the only reason I want to go, but it's a good enough reason for me.

Brighton is a place that I went to as a child, I literally don't remember this, so I want to go again as an adult. I like the seaside, and, from what I've seen on Instagram, it looks like the best one.

St Ives
Another coastal place, St Ives actually looks amazing. Cornwall in general is a place I'd love to go to, and St Ives just looks stunning.

Basically, I want to go here for the castle. I like castles, and Edinburgh's always seems to crop up in conversations about castles (because I clearly have a lot of those).

Hope I've inspired you to have your own little staycation.

  3. Brighton is awesome. I know, I'm biased cos I live here but if you do decide to come there are some fab places you have to go!
