As we all know, the festive season is now upon us, hooray, and this means having a lot of plans for most of us, and lots of plans mean lots of outfits, and different occasions call for different outfits, phew. So, I have come up with a couple of outfit ideas for various plans you may have this festive season, with some help from Femmeluxe.
Pub lunch with family members
Christmas to a lot of people means family time, and nothing says family time like lunch in a nice cosy pub. So, with the idea of cosiness in mind, I decided to go for a jumper dress as a nice comfy alternative to all the sparkles and skimpy dresses we often see during the festive period. I know this jumper dress fits a bit on the short side on me, so I would probably wear it with some trousers or thick leggings if I were to wear it for a pub lunch, but I am on the tall side, so that may not be the case for everyone. Another idea for this outfit would be to pair it with your comfiest jeans to wear for a family Christmas morning walk, if that is one of your family Christmas traditions.
Christmas Day/ New Year’s Eve
Now I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m a big fan of dressing up for Christmas Day, it makes the day feel extra special to me, and I’m sure many people feel the same, so a sparkly minidress is perfect for dressing up. I paired it here with a cropped jumper, because, let’s face it, it’s December so it’s not exactly warm, and you still have to look respectable for your grandparents coming for Christmas Dinner. I am also not the most body confident of people, so the addition of a jumper also helps me not feel as self-conscious. If you remove the jumper though, this dress would also be absolutely perfect for dancing the night away on New Year’s Eve, because if you can’t dress as a disco ball on New Year’s Eve, then when can you?
Work Christmas Party/ Meal
I’ve saved the second most important Christmas outfit for last: the work Christmas do outfit. Even though I do love a bit of colour, sometimes you can’t beat a classic monochrome combination, and, for a work Christmas night out, this long sleeved mesh sleeve top is perfect. The mesh sleeves are a great balance between being fun and being practical, because you don’t want to embarrass yourself too much in front of your boss now, do you? Here I paired it with some black leather look trousers, which are great for going out out, and the fabric clash of the mesh and the leather works so well together, and wearing something high waisted with a cropped top is always a winner in my opinion. This outfit would also work for a meal, if that’s what your work like to do for their Christmas do, as well as for a good old night out.
I hope these outfits have given you some inspiration for something you may want to wear for festive plans you may have. Let me know some of your festive plans, I love hearing about what others do with their Christmases, so any fun plans you have, tell me! I have a couple of Christmas parties to go to, and a couple of meals too, so I’ll have to come up with a few festive things to wear for all my plans too. Luckily, I love planning outfits for things, so I’ll be happy doing that.
Make sure to check out Femmeluxe for any of your festive outfit needs, there are lots of styles for Christmas outfits, with everything from casual, comfy outfits to super sparkly party outfits, there’s something to suit all tastes out there. They are also very purse friendly too, so you have all that extra money to spend on presents, or in my case, on treating yourself, December is hard enough, and hopefully you’ll have all bought all of your presents by now.
