Festive Outfits with Femmeluxe

This post includes gifted items, but all opinions are, as always, my own.

As we all know, the festive season is now upon us, hooray, and this means having a lot of plans for most of us, and lots of plans mean lots of outfits, and different occasions call for different outfits, phew. So, I have come up with a couple of outfit ideas for various plans you may have this festive season, with some help from Femmeluxe.

Pub lunch with family members
Christmas to a lot of people means family time, and nothing says family time like lunch in a nice cosy pub. So, with the idea of cosiness in mind, I decided to go for a jumper dress as a nice comfy alternative to all the sparkles and skimpy dresses we often see during the festive period. I know this jumper dress fits a bit on the short side on me, so I would probably wear it with some trousers or thick leggings if I were to wear it for a pub lunch, but I am on the tall side, so that may not be the case for everyone. Another idea for this outfit would be to pair it with your comfiest jeans to wear for a family Christmas morning walk, if that is one of your family Christmas traditions.

Christmas Day/ New Year’s Eve
Now I don’t know about everyone else, but I’m a big fan of dressing up for Christmas Day, it makes the day feel extra special to me, and I’m sure many people feel the same, so a sparkly minidress is perfect for dressing up. I paired it here with a cropped jumper, because, let’s face it, it’s December so it’s not exactly warm, and you still have to look respectable for your grandparents coming for Christmas Dinner. I am also not the most body confident of people, so the addition of a jumper also helps me not feel as self-conscious. If you remove the jumper though, this dress would also be absolutely perfect for dancing the night away on New Year’s Eve, because if you can’t dress as a disco ball on New Year’s Eve, then when can you?

Work Christmas Party/ Meal
I’ve saved the second most important Christmas outfit for last: the work Christmas do outfit. Even though I do love a bit of colour, sometimes you can’t beat a classic monochrome combination, and, for a work Christmas night out, this long sleeved mesh sleeve top is perfect. The mesh sleeves are a great balance between being fun and being practical, because you don’t want to embarrass yourself too much in front of your boss now, do you? Here I paired it with some black leather look trousers, which are great for going out out, and the fabric clash of the mesh and the leather works so well together, and wearing something high waisted with a cropped top is always a winner in my opinion. This outfit would also work for a meal, if that’s what your work like to do for their Christmas do, as well as for a good old night out.

I hope these outfits have given you some inspiration for something you may want to wear for festive plans you may have. Let me know some of your festive plans, I love hearing about what others do with their Christmases, so any fun plans you have, tell me! I have a couple of Christmas parties to go to, and a couple of meals too, so I’ll have to come up with a few festive things to wear for all my plans too. Luckily, I love planning outfits for things, so I’ll be happy doing that.

Make sure to check out Femmeluxe for any of your festive outfit needs, there are lots of styles for Christmas outfits, with everything from casual, comfy outfits to super sparkly party outfits, there’s something to suit all tastes out there. They are also very purse friendly too, so you have all that extra money to spend on presents, or in my case, on treating yourself, December is hard enough, and hopefully you’ll have all bought all of your presents by now.

Fighting Evil By Moonlight

My favourite anime of all time is definitely Sailor Moon. I’ve seen the whole original 90s anime, and read all of the manga. When I saw a Sailor Moon collaboration with Uniqlo I filed the information away in my brain for a rainy day. Then, when Sam and I went to Manchester a couple of weeks ago to look for Halloween costumes, I saw that there was now a Uniqlo. Remembering about the collection, I quickly found it, but I wanted it all and I don’t have infinite money, so I knew I could only get one. I couldn’t choose at all, so I told Sam the options, and he chose one for me.

I’m so glad he chose this tie-dye effect pink one, as it has scenes from the actual manga on the back of it, and it’s the transformation scene, which, if you haven’t seen it, go and watch it, because it’s one of my favourite animated scenes ever. I’m now gutted that t-shirt weather has well and truly left us for the year, but, judging by my other Uniqlo clothing items, I know I’ll enjoy it for years to come.

Disneyland Paris June 2019 Outfit Diary

Last week, Sam and I took a much needed break to Disneyland Paris, to see the Marvel season, to warm up for our upcoming Florida holiday, and as a way to cheer up an otherwise miserable couple of months. As usual I planned my outfits in advance, so I thought I’d do a little outfit diary of the trip.

Day one
Day one was also travel day, so I opted for something as comfy as I could get (I don’t really do casual dressing very well) which was a long tulle skirt from BooHoo and my Mickey Mouse ice creams top from Primark, which is probably my favourite Summer Disney item.

Day two
Day two was myself and Sam’s matching outfits day. This time, as we were at a Sleeping Beauty castle, we wore matching Aurora themed t-shirts from the wonderful Quackers and Co. I wore team pink and Sam wore team blue. I just decided to wear this top with denim shorts for an easy middle day outfit.

Day three
Day three saw me wear a dress I’d purposely bought for this trip, and, because we’re amongst friends here, was also the reason I wanted to come on this trip rather than just waiting for Florida; my Captain Marvel dress from EMP. I love this dress and I got so many compliments on it. I’ll definitely be keeping it for future use, aka, every time I have a chance of meeting Captain Marvel.

I hope you enjoyed this little outfit diary, the trip reports are coming very soon.

One Pink Tree, Four Different Outfits

Now we all know how much I love a pink tree, and pink clothing, so when I got the idea to take some pictures in front of one of the big cherry blossom trees in our local park, I decided to make it a bit of a feature, and, due to me having not done an outfit post on here in a while, I thought I would do four.

As is typical with me, 90% of the clothes are no longer available to buy, but I thought I’d showcase them anyway, as I definitely wear more older clothes than new ones, and what is this blog other than realistic about my penchant for never wearing current clothing?

I hope you’ve all had a great Easter weekend, mine has been filled with fun, sun, and plenty of chocolate, which I will tell you all about in another post soon.

Parisian Dreams

T-shirt, Skirt- Topshop

Well hello there, long time no outfit post. I’ve been feeling in a bit of a rut with blogging lately, so I’m using this outfit post to push myself back in to it, which I hope/think will work, plus it has my new top in it.

Speaking of my new top, how nice is it? If you know me at all, or, can deduce from my French-ish blog name, I absolutely love Paris, it is by far my favourite place I’ve ever been to, and I return to it that much that it has become a bit of a running joke whenever I have time off at work, I’ll always come back to “oh, so how was Paris?” and the like. So when I saw this top on the Topshop website, I knew I had to get it. I originally wanted to wear it with a different skirt, but the weather has changed so drastically in England in the last few days that I had to put a long skirt and tights on. It was a perfect outfit to tide me over until my next trip.

Girl Power

Top- Depop / skirt, coat- Topshop / bag- eBay

I’m back with an outfit post for the first time in what feels like an age, and what better way to come back than with an almost 100% pink outfit?! I absolutely adore Sailor Moon, so when my lovely friend Cara was selling this girl power tee on Depop, I knew I had to get it. I paired it with other pink items to be the most me I can be. I also decided it’d be a perfect day to wear my brand new ita bag that I got from eBay. I love these bags, as you can make them personal to you with pins and badges, which are amongst my favourite things to buy anyway, so it’s a win win situation.
