My Top Five Disneyland Paris Entertainment

I know, I know, two Disney lists in a row, but January is rather a long, boring month. I also realise I haven’t blogged much this month, which I’m planning on changing in February. Anyway, today I thought I’d share with you my five favourite Disneyland Paris entertainment offerings, ever. Note that I’ve only been going to Disneyland Paris as an adult for about three years, and I don’t remember any of the entertainment from when I was a kid (which, in my defence, was 25 years ago) so all of these things are recent, but anyway, here is my list.

Minnie’s Spring Train
Or, more colloquially known as Sunny Bunnyland. I absolutely adore this cavalcade, it’s so happy and fun and makes me very happy indeed. Plus the song is amazing.

Starlit Princess Waltz
As if the best thing on Castle Stage wasn’t going to make this list. I love this show so much, and I think I always will. It’s just beautiful, and never fails to make me cry.

Stars on Parade
This is my favourite main parade (sorry, Magic on Parade, I still love you) I love everything about it: The floats, the song, the choreography. It’s so energetic and lively, it definitely brightens my day.

Disney Dreams
Whilst I don’t hate Illuminations, Dreams was just pure magic to me. The story of it, and the chosen scenes were perfect, and I would always end up in tears by the end of it.

Mickey and the Magician
This show is that high quality, it’s more like a broadway show. I especially love the tap dancing involved in this show; I love well choreographed pieces and this doesn’t disappoint.

This list may change soon once I see that Star Wars show on the Tower of Terror, and it will probably change more with the more I go to Disneyland Paris, as their entertainment keeps getting better and better.

My Favourite Disney Instagrams

Instagram is my favourite form of social media, so, naturally I love Disney Instagram accounts, so today I thought I’d do a post of my favourite Disney Instagram accounts/ accounts that feature a lot of Disney. These are by no means the only ones, and they aren’t in any order at all, but here are ten of my favourites.

2018 Cosplay Plans

So, here I am, almost at the end of the first month of the year, and I haven’t even spoken about the cosplay plans that I have for 2018. I’ll break them down by the con that I’m planning to make each cosplay for.

MCM London, May: this is my first planned convention of the year, and for this I am planning a different cosplay for each day: Wendy Darling, Starlit Princess Waltz Aurora, and Princess Leia.

LFCC, July: this is myself and Lee’s favourite convention, so I’m planning two cosplays for it: Sailor V and Zelda.

MCM London, October: my third planned con of the year is mcm October, and for this I’m planning on cosplaying Princess Peach, Queenie Goldstein, and Nancy Wheeler.

So there are my initial 2018 cosplay plans. They will probably change as usual, but these are the plans. I like the mixture and balance I have planned, and I hope I manage them all.

Disneyland Paris January Day Three

Day three was our final day in the parks, and we had to leave at 5, so we were determined to meet at least one emh character, so, after we’d had our breakfast and checked out of the Dream Castle, we hot-footed it to the parks via the concierge, and went to meet Donald. After we’d met Donald, we saw that my favourite princess, Aurora, was in the Pavilion so we went to meet her. We also stepped out of the Pavilion and Rabbit from Winnie the Pooh was doing an unscheduled meet, so we obviously met him, which was great as I’d never met him before.

Then Sammy and Hannah arrived, so we went and met them, took some pictures and then met Maleficent, who was also doing an unscheduled meet. After we’d met Maleficent, we went on Pirates again and then went and got some food at Bella Notte. We then went on Small World and met Cinderella. Sadly, then my mum and I had to leave the parks via Main Street for a quick shop, so we said our goodbyes and left.

Disneyland Paris January Day Two

The second day of our Disneyland Paris trip was all about three things; rides, characters and getting a Phantom Manor badge. We started off the day with a Dream Castle breakfast, which was actually delicious, and then we headed to the parks, having missed extra magic hours. We decided to go on Big Thunder first, then try and get a badge from Phantom Manor, however when we got there we were told there wouldn’t be any badges until 8pm. A bit of confusion then arrived, as many places were saying they’d be available at 12. We decided to go and meet Jack Skellington, and then we went to the Disneyland Hotel because Mary Poppins was meeting there in her nanny outfit.

We then headed back to Phantom Manor, and got our badges at around 1pm, then we went to get a Casey’s hot dog and headed to the Studios for a bit, where we went on Ratatouille and Tower of Terror. We also wanted to meet Minnie but the queue was long so we went back to the main park, and went on Hyperspace Mountain and Star Tours, before watching the parade.

After the parade, we met Ariel in the Princess Pavilion, and then went on Pirates of the Caribbean, ate at Colnel Hathi’s, and went on Peter Pan’s Flight, Small World and Star Tours again before watching Illuminations and heading back to the hotel.

Disneyland Paris January Day One

So as you will know, I just returned from a weekend in Disneyland Paris to catch the last bit of the Christmas season, so I thought I’d do a series of trip reports for each day of the trip over the next three days. So, day one:

We arrived in Paris at 9:45am, and then hot footed it to the Magic Shuttle, meaning we got to the park at 11:30. On the first day our aim was to see as much of the Christmas entertainment as possible, which we actually did manage to get through. We started with the Christmas parade, which was so cute, and had some really lovely surprises in it. We then met Marie which was adorable, and went for some lunch in my favourite place; Market House Deli. After this, we watched Merry Stitchmas and went on Small World before watching the parade.

After the parade we watched Mickey’s Christmas Big Band, which was absolutely amazing. Seriously, watch it if you can on YouTube, it’s the best. We also ate in Cafe Hyperion, and then headed over to the Studios, where we went on Ratatouille and watched Goofy’s Incredible Christmas. We then headed back to the main park, where we looked in a few shops and had a hot chocolate whilst waiting for Illuminations, after which we headed back to the Dream Castle Hotel, where we had a lovely sleep ready for the next day.

Disneyland Paris January Bucket List

When you read this post I’ll be back in Disneyland Paris!! I know I go all the time, so this “bucket list” is just a list of five things that I want to try and do on this trip, it’s by no means a groundbreaking list, but because I go so often, I like to try and find little things to do differently each time. So, here’s my list:

1. Meet at least one new character.
2. See as much of the Christmas entertainment as possible.
3. Try a new food item.
4. Get one of the free Phantom Manor badges.
5. Have a magical time.

Here is my list, it’s small so definitely manageable. See you on the other side (when I get back).

2018 Goals

I know in my last post I said I don’t really make New Years Resolutions, but, to be honest, I do like to set goals for myself, which, now that I’ve realised that this blog is far more of a lifestyle blog than it used to be, I thought I would share here. So, here are a few of my goals for 2018...

Get better at cosplay
The first goal I thought of for the year was to get better at cosplay. It’s a hobby I adore, but every time I decide to make costumes, I always leave them until the last minute, so to get better at cosplay, I’m going to be more organised.

Do at least one fun thing a month
I want to start making the most of my time off, so I’ve decided to do at least one fun thing a month; whether it’s a day trip, holiday, or just a fun activity.

Be more comfortable again
That’s right; I’m talking body confidence here. I used to be so comfortable in my own skin, but recently I’ve really not been all that happy with myself. So I’m planning on changing that.

Write
Write, write, and write some more. I’m really trying hard to become an author, and I’ll only get better at that by writing more.

Live my best life
This is a rather ambiguous one, I really want to start living my best life this year, by being happier, taking advantage of more opportunities, and just having more fun.

I’m looking forward to seeing if I can achieve all of these goals, and I’d love to hear yours.

Looking Back on 2017, and On to 2018

Happy new year everyone!
It seems to be a little tradition of mine now to forget to post my yearly round up posts on January 1st, and this year is the same, so here I am with my 2017 yearly review.

January-June
My year started with a cinema trip to see Silence, and a very cold January day trip to Buxton, as it’s somewhere Lee had wanted to go to for ages, February was a quiet month, but then March brought my first Disneyland Paris trip of the year with my wonderful friend Rachel. April was an absolutely amazing month; not only did Lee and I take a trip to Nice, but I got to experience the actual 25th anniversary of Disneyland Paris. In May we went to MCM Expo, and in June we went to a con outside of London; BFCCC. I also went back to Disneyland Paris in June with Rachel, Sammy and Jade.

July- December
In July we went to another con, LFCC, and I took Lee to the Platform 9 3/4 shop. August saw a trip to Amsterdam and a stay in a boat, and I also witnessed the delight that was Angels in America. In September myself and Lee got the chance to dress up for two occasions; my dance teacher’s 40th and a wedding. In October I went to Disneyland Paris for Halloween, and went to my first ever Disney meet at MCM. Finally, November and December were two lovely festive months, and we went to see The Last Jedi, meaning I managed to book-end my year with Adam Driver.

On to 2018, and I’m not one to set unrealistic goals on January 1st, but I have a few little things I’d like to do this year. My main goal/resolution this year is really just to live my best life, and I started as I mean to go on by planning a trip to Paris next month. Also I’m going to Disneyland Paris this weekend too, so there’s that.
